George Michael "Mike" Lawrence passed away on June 23, 2023 after a long and arduous battle with prostate cancer.

Michael was born on February 15, 1954.  He was the son of George and Dorothy Lawrence of Paducah, KY.

Michael graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School in 1972 and from the University of Kentucky in 1976.  He had a long and distinguished career in Kentucky State Government.  He served as the lead investigator in the Office of the Inspector General in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.  He became the assistant director in the Division of Special Investigations and later Director of that Division where he served under four different Governors.  He was appointed as the Deputy Inspector General in 2007 where he served for two years.  He retired in 2009 due to health reasons.

He is survived by his wife, Angie Lawrence and their dog Gage.

Mike was an avid fly fisherman and shooter.  He was the consummate professional and respected by all who knew him.  Mike was a man of integrity and conviction who loved the Lord and wanted to please Him.  He will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 5 – 7 PM at Ninevah Christian Church chapel, 1195 Ninevah Rd., Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
