Melissa Rucker LIVE Funeral Service Broadcast

Melissa Kay Rucker, 34, daughter of William Curtis Rucker and Linda Richards Sanderson, passed away on April 10, 2026. She was born August 14, 1991, in Frankfort, Kentucky.

Melissa was a 2009 graduate of Anderson County High School. She previously worked as a CNA at the Masonic Home in Shelbyville, where she found great joy in caring for others and forming relationships with the residents. She had a deep love for God, a passion for creating art, and cherished time spent with her family and her beloved cats, Cassie and Zelda. Melissa will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul who never met a stranger.

In addition to her parents, Melissa is survived by her stepmother, Sonia Rucker; her stepfather, Wesley Sanderson; her sisters, Jessica Bradley (Nathan) and Abigail Carter (Jesse); her stepsisters, Jamie Sharp (Jeff Croxton) and Emily Sanderson (Michael Russell), and her stepbrother, Adam Sanderson (Jordan).

Melissa was preceded in death by the love of her life, Jamie Chisholm, as well as her grandparents, Dan and Jona Richards and William E. and Lucille Rucker.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, with Bro. Josh Rucker and Bro. Alex McGaughey officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jesse Carter, Nathan Bradley, Jon Richards, Gregory Sharp, Martin Valencia, and Branton Tindall.
