Mary Isabel Jackson Thurman, of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Lawrenceburg, wife of the late Charles A. Thurman, departed this life on Friday, March 25, 2016. Born November 27, 1919 in Anderson County, KY, Mrs. Thurman was the daughter of the late John and Lou Ella Jackson.

In 2008 she united with the Baptist Grove Church of Raleigh, NC after moving from Lawrenceburg where she was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, JoAnna Stallard, Raleigh, NC, and Norma J. Stockdale, OH; three sons, Charles A. (Martha) Thurman, Lexington, KY, James R. (Oneida) Thurman, Harrodsburg, KY, Ricky L. Thurman, FL; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were held April 1st at Baptist Grove Church, Raleigh, NC.

A local wake will begin at 10 AM Friday, April 8th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with services following at 12:30 PM Friday. Committal services will follow at the Woodlawn Hills Cemetery, Lawrenceburg, KY.
