Mary Elizabeth Marshall Gaines, 77, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023 at her home in Lawrenceburg. Born in Franklin County, KY on December 6, 1945, Mary was the daughter of the late Harry Eugene Marshall and Mary Emily Foster Marshall.

A 1964 graduate of Franklin County High School, Mary retired as a receptionist/secretary for the KY Cabinet of Human Recourses. She was a member of the Anderson Christian Church and formerly enjoyed playing Bunco and line dancing.

She is survived by her three sons, David Thomas Gaines of Alaska, Jeffrey Lawrence Gaines and Patrick Lee (Jamie) Gaines, both of Lawrenceburg; five grandchildren, Dylan, Kaylee, Brayden, Rylee, and Lauren; a great grandchild, Grayson; and three brothers, Thomas (Joyce) Marshall and Harry (Virginia) Marshall, both of Frankfort, and Richard Marshall of Florida.

A time of visitation will be held from 4 – 6 PM Wednesday, May 10, 2023 followed by the service beginning at 6:00 PM Wednesday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. A private burial of Mary's cremains will be held at a later date at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

Memorials in memory of Mary Gaines are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
