Mary Loyce Cox Bird, 89, wife of the late Andrew Milton Bird, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at her home. Born September 3, 1927 in Allen County, KY, Mary was the daughter of the late Noah and Gertrude Boucher Cox.

A retired teacher, Mrs. Bird held a Master's Degree in Language Arts and formerly taught with the Anderson County Board of Education, Hart Memorial High School, and in Iowa. She was a member, former Sunday school teacher, and led the quilting group at First Baptist Church. Also, she was a former member of several women's organizations in Lawrenceburg.

Mrs. Bird is survived by her son, David Andrew Bird, and her grandson, Robert Andrew Bird, both of Lawrenceburg. Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Bird was predeceased by a sister, Florence Calvert.

Mrs. Bird's visitation will be held on Monday, May 29 ^th from 5 – 8 PM at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Private services will be held for Mrs. Bird with burial in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
