Martha Jane Thacker Cornish Stratton, 80, of Lawrenceburg, wife of the late Edgar Cornish, Jr., passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Heritage Hall Care Center in Lawrenceburg. Born January 20, 1936, Martha was the daughter of the late James Everett and Alla Mae Hendricks Thacker.

Martha worked as a bookkeeper for the former Young Ford and as a restaurant cook. She was a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church.

Martha is survived by two sisters, Nancy Thacker Dennis and her husband Ralph Dennis, Jr. and Linda Thacker Puckett her husband Jerry of Lawrenceburg; a niece and several nephews; several great nieces and great nephews. Along with her first husband and parents, Martha was predeceased by two brothers, James "Chink" Thacker, Jr. and William H. "Poogie" Thacker, and two sisters, Joyce Thacker Robinson and Louise Devers.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 13th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Hebron Cemetery in Anderson County. Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Monday.

Serving as pallbearers will be Luke Thacker, Billy Thacker, Bobby Thacker, Jerry Puckett, Jr., Chris Puckett, and Chip Dennis. Honorary bearers will be Eddie Thacker, Jeffrey Robinson, Denise Myers, Hazel Smith, Glen Royalty and Doug Dahlen.
