Mark Allen Thompson, age 58, husband of Stephanie Thompson, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024. Mark was born October 20, 1966, in Logan, West Virginia to the late Lloyd Douglas Thompson and Patricia Sue Marcum Thompson.

Mark was a proud United States Navy Veteran who served his country with honor and dedication, later continuing his service as a respiratory therapist in the NICU at UK Hospital and the VA Hospital in Louisville. Mark was a licensed minister through the Lawrenceburg United Pentecostal Church, where he shared his faith and contributed to the spiritual growth of his community. In addition to his church membership, he was a member of the NRA and the VFW in Frankfort. A passionate sports fan, Mark was an avid supporter of the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints, and he fondly recalled his days playing wrestling, football, and baseball in school. Above all, Mark was a devoted husband and father, known for his unwavering love and commitment to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Including his beloved wife Stephanie, Mark is survived by his children, Araina (Brian) Thompson of Nicholasville, Mackenzie (Blayden) Thompson of Frankfort, and Perrin Allen Thompson of Versailles; two grandchildren, Sylas and Oliver Wilson; two siblings, Steven Douglas (Nancy) Thompson of Lexington and Stephanie Allaine (Clay) Compton of Crestwood; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at the Lawrenceburg United Pentecostal Church, 113 Dogwood Drive, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342 with Pastor Mike Seidenfaden officiating. Visitation will be before the service on Wednesday from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the church.

Burial with military honors will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, 6980 Danville Road, Nicholasville, KY 40356.

Serving as pallbearers will be Perrin Thompson, Steven Thompson, Brian Wilson, Blayden Bryant, Steve Strohl, and Jackie Carter.
