Marion L. Rowland, 85, of Lawrenceburg formerly of Shelbyville, peacefully went home to live with the Lord on Friday, February 9, 2018 in Frankfort, KY. Marion was born in Midway, KY to Virgil and Myrtle Searcy Rowland on June 3, 1932.

Including his parents, Marion was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Farris, an infant daughter Dianne Teresa Rowland, and sons Danny Rowland, David Allen, and Tony Temple.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years Dorothy Temple Rowland, a sister Louise McGaughey of FL, sons David Rowland and Dale (Joyce) Rowland of Ohio, Wesley (Linda) Allen of Shelbyville, daughters Dianne Rowland of MI, Teresa Summitt of Lawrenceburg, Angie (Bobby) Lewis of Frankfort, nephews, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years and retired following 30 years with the City of Dayton, Ohio as a heavy equipment operator. Enjoyed his family, fishing, painting, and mowing the farm.   He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 13 ^th beginning at 1:00 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Burial will follow with military honors at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5 – 8 PM.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dale and David Rowland, Wesley Allen, James Summitt, Mark Bohannon, and Dave Price.
