Margie Richardson Gillis, 90, wife of the late Charles Edward Gillis, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Signature Healthcare at Heritage Hall in Lawrenceburg.  Born June 3, 1929 in Estill County, KY, Margie was the daughter of the late Clell and Maggie Harris Richardson.

Along with her husband and parents, Margie was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers, including her twin brother.

Margie was a homemaker and formerly worked at Sylvania and JTS Brown Distillery.  She was a member of the Salvisa Baptist Church where she attended the Wingo Sunday School class.  Margie formerly attended Sand Spring Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.  Margie and her children sang in a group known as "God's Gift," she also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, and puzzles.

Margie is survived by children, Linda Sue Gillis Sherwood (Jeff) McElwain of Lawrenceburg, Charlene (Jerry Wayne) Goodlett of Salvisa, and Charles Edward (Beth) Gillis, Jr. of Lawrenceburg; five grandchildren, Bryan Kent (Heather) Sherwood, Chad Allen (Lisa) Sherwood, David Wayne (Miranda) Goodlett, Charles Christopher (Joan) Gillis, and Dawn Goodlett (Daniel) Reynolds; nine great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 6 ^th from 10 AM – 1 PM followed by the service beginning at 1:00 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Sand Spring Cemetery in Anderson County, KY.   Bro. Jonathan Jones will officiate the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Sherwood, Chad Sherwood, David Goodlett, Chris Gillis, Daniel Reynolds, and Shorty Bowman.  Honorary bearers will be Buddy Baker, Sherman Richardson, and Charles Wayne Bowman.
