Funeral Service Broadcast for Lovena Disponett

Lovena Drury Disponett, 98, widow of the late John Henry Disponett, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, at her home in Lawrenceburg. She was born on September 21, 1926, in Mercer County, KY, to the late Everett Drury and Ruby Yates Drury.

Mrs. Disponett was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, where she faithfully served for many years as the nursery coordinator, lovingly caring for generations of children. She retired from the Anderson County School District following a dedicated career as a cafeteria worker at Emma B. Ward Elementary.

Lovena had a lifelong love of country music and treasured her yearly trips to Fan Fair in Nashville, especially when she had the opportunity to see her favorites, the Oak Ridge Boys. She also loved to travel and found joy in life's simple routines, such as her daily coffee visits to McDonald's. Her warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Christine Pontrich and Donald Drury.

She is survived by her daughters, Roxie Ann (Clark) Rowland and Patsy Kearns, both of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Dale Rowland, Jamie (Chrystal) Rowland, Cheri Murphy, and John Michael (Kelley) Kearns, all of Lawrenceburg; nine great-grandchildren, Jessica (Nolan) Walls, Jason Rowland, Kirby (Jade) Rowland, Evan Rowland, Laney Rowland, Jake Rowland, Zach (Kelsey) Kearns, Kylee Kearns, and Khloe Kearns; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Ehr and Dr. Jeff Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 11, and again from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Thursday, June 12, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Michael Kearns, Zach Kearns, Dale Rowland, Kirby Rowland, Todd Hyatt, and Carlos Hernandez. Honorary bearers will be Dave Disponett, Tony Disponett, Jimmy Disponett, Jimmie Morgan, and Lavone Stratton.
