Louis James Shryock, 85, husband of 65 years to Juanita Christerson Shryock, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016 at Baptist Health Lexington. Born May 29, 1931 in Lawrenceburg, Louis was the son of the late Louis Dudley and Lola Katherine Robinson Shryock.

Along with his parents, Louis was predeceased by two brothers, Dudley J. Shryock and his wife Wilma and Paul V. Shryock.

Louis was a 1950 graduate of Anderson County High School and a veteran of the Korean War. He was a renowned business owner in the city of Lawrenceburg. Opening Shryock's Liquor in 1969 and continued working the business until 2007. Previously, he was employed with Pyrofax for 16years. A member of the Anderson Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, he was also an avid horse racing fan.

Including his wife Juanita, Louis is survived by his two sons, Robert Louis "Bobby" Shryock and his wife Marilyn, and James Michael "Mike" Shryock, and two grandchildren, Amy Elizabeth Shryock and Adam Louis Shryock, all of Lawrenceburg.

Funeral services will be Sunday, Sept. 18th beginning at 2:00 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Ehr and Dr. Jeff Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 4 – 8 PM.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby, Mike, Adam, and Dudley Shryock, Wynne Allen, and Thomas Elwood Christerson. His granddaughter, Amy Shryock will be an honorary bearer.
