LouElla Allen Lawson, 90, widow of Horace Keith Lawson, departed this life on September 19, 2025. Born in Lawrenceburg, KY on October 9, 1934, the daughter of Wallace Allen and Corzetta Huggins Allen.

Along with her husband and son, Keith H. Lawson, she was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Wilson.

LouElla was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Lexington, KY, where she served as a Deaconess and a Nursery Sunday School teacher in her earlier years. After the passing of her husband, she attended Evergreen Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, Ky, her childhood church. On special occasions she would have one of her children drive her to Lexington to Main Street.

LouElla attended elementary school at Georgetown Colored School in Lawrenceburg, a one room schoolhouse. She was taught by Ms. Catherine Pleasant. She then attended Versailles High School, later renamed Simmons High School where she graduated as Salutatorian of her class. After high school, she attended and graduated from Fugazzi Business School.

LouElla worked for the late Dr. George (Linda) Gilbert, Sr. for over 60 plus years including helping raise their eight children. She also worked as the medical secretary for Dr. Gilbert and after his passing she continued to work for his son, Dr. James Gilbert at the Gilbert's Clinic before she retired.

In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, watching the Price is Right while talking on the phone with her sister, Barbara to see who was going to win the showcase for the day, she enjoyed working puzzles and doing word search, she always carried a word search book in her purse.

She is survived by her children, Paul (Crystal) Lawson of Lawrenceburg, KY, Michael (Carlos) Lawson of Lexington, KY and Pamela Lawson Black of Lawrenceburg, KY and daughter in law, Beverly Jones Lawson of Shelbyville, KY. Brother, Thomas Allen of Lawrenceburg, KY and Sister, Barbara (Eddie) Barber of Lexington, KY and Sister-in-Law, Susann (Pete) Emerson of Lexington, KY.  She had eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and several cousins. Also, including her Gilbert's babies, George (Connie) Gilbert, Jr., Charles (Teresa) Gilbert, Elizabeth (Mark) Fitzgerald, Therese Kelly, John Gilbert, Jamie (Leslie) Gilbert, Louie Gilbert and Linda Marie Loughrin.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00PM Friday, Sept. 26th at Ritchie and Peach Funeral Home and after 11AM Saturday, Sept. 27th until the time of service at 12 noon at Main Street Baptist Church, 582 W. Main Street, Lexington, KY. The Homegoing service will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday also at the church with Rev. Victor G. Sholar officiating.

Burial will be held at 12 noon Monday, Sept. 29th, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Frankfort, KY.

Mrs. Lawson's grandsons will serve as pallbearers and the Deacons of Main Street Baptist will serve as honorary bearers.
