Lonnie E. Wilson, 69, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. Born April 3, 1947 in Leslie County, KY, Lonnie was the son of the late Vernon and Lillie Wilson.

Lonnie was a retired employee of Link Belt in Lexington and a former employee of Florida Tile in Lawrenceburg. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Lonnie loved cats especially his cat Snowball. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, playing golf, and watching the U.K. Wildcats.

Lonnie is survived by his girlfriend, Shelby Phillips of Lawrenceburg; Shelby's grandsons, Andrew Bentley and Jason Taylor; his special friend, Gary Rucker of Lawrenceburg; his two sisters, Frances (Fredrick) Barnes of Vevay, IN and Della Rose (Junior) Romans of Madison, IN; and a brother, Paul Wilson of Corbin. Along with his parents, Lonnie was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Wilson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, Dec. 5th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Ehr officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be 6 – 8 PM Sunday.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Rucker, Andrew Bentley, David Bentley, Jason Taylor, Jimmy Pittman, Paul Wilson, and Kyle Wilson.
