Lloyd Gaylord Hodel, 88, of Lawrenceburg, husband of the late Lois Eileen Houston Hodel, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at his home. Born May 20, 1927 in Roanoke, IL, he was the son of the late Emanuel and Neah Toole Hodel.

A retired mail carrier for the U. S. Postal Service, Mr. Hodel served as a Corporal in the U. S. Army and was a member of the Lawrenceburg First Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Hodel is survived by four children, Letitia (Dennis) Saylor of Murphysboro, IL, Michael Hodel of Columbus, OH, Alexis Hunter of Lawrenceburg, KY , and John (Tulay) Hodel of Nevada; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; two sisters, Terry (Bruce) Patkunas of South Carolina and Lynette (Bill) Ruder of Eureka, IL; and a brothers, Myron (Barbara) Hodel of Cornland, IL.

Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Phylis Voorhees and Beverly Armstrong, a brother Kaywin Hodel and an infant brother.

Services will be 2:00 pm CDT Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Pleasant Grove Memorial Park chapel, Murphysboro, IL with military honors. A time of visitation will be 4 – 7 pm Tuesday, March 29th at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg, KY.
