Lester Roy Schell, 71, husband of 48 years to Bonnie Stratton Schell, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 at U.K. Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Born June 12, 1947 in Laurel County, KY, Lester was the son of the late Otis and Mae Parman Schell.

Including his parents, Lester was preceded in death by a son Larry Roy Schell, and his siblings Eugene Schell, Delmas Schell, and an infant brother Earl Schell.

Lester was the owner/operator of Schell Backhoe Service which he began in December 1977. He was a member of the Ballard Baptist Church, Anderson County Sportsman's Club, Wheels of Time Car Club and the American Legion Post #34.

Along with his wife Bonnie, Lester is survived by his two sons Mike P. (Kim) Schell and Jeremy R. (Casey) Schell, both of Lawrenceburg; five grandchildren, Dalton, Skylar, Jaryn, Landon, and Grayson; a sister Ruby (Laughlin) Rice of Frankfort; and a brother Tim (Janet) Schell of Lawrenceburg.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 9 ^th beginning at 11 AM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Bro. Jerry Dedman and Bro. Jerry Montgomery will officiate the service. Burial with military honors will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 – 8 PM.
