Leona West Flynn, 85, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. The widow of Harold Blaine Flynn, Mrs. Flynn was born March 3, 1930 in Anderson County, KY to the late Robert Thomas and Anna Lydia Martin West.

Mrs. Flynn was a homemaker and worked with her late husband on their family farm. She was a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church, the Faithful Workers Sunday school class and a former member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. A wonderful seamstress, Mrs. Flynn enjoyed making children's clothing and her daughter's wedding dresses.

Mrs. Flynn is survived by her four children, Barbara Gail Sutherland of Lawrenceburg, Pamela Kay (Roger) Conley of Woodford County, Karen Denise (Todd) Hageman and Harold Blaine Flynn, Jr., both of Lawrenceburg; 5 grandchildren, Anthony (Jan) Sutherland, Leslie Robinson, Lori Sutherland, Megan Bagwell, and Angelina Flynn; 4 great grandchildren, Noah and Lydia Sutherland, Joshua Brooks, and Caitlyn Sutherland; two sisters, Frances Phillips of Lawrenceburg and Nora Knight of Dalton, GA; and two sisters-in-law, Jimmie West and Phyllis West.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Sutherland; two sisters, Geneveve Gregory and Rosetta Sutherland; and four brothers, Joe, Earl, Robert, and Elzie West.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, July 24th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 – 8 pm Thursday.
