Lena Ruth Newkirk Carmickle, 72, wife of Robert T. "Bob" Carmickle, passed away October 3, 2022 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Born in Winchester, KY on July 15, 1950, Lena was the daughter of the late John Newkirk and Ruby Katherine Barnes Newkirk.  She was a member of the House of Praise Church and loved her family, especially her grandkids and dogs.

Along with Bob, her husband of 43 years, Lena is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Carmickle (Josh Grider) of Lawrenceburg; a step-daughter, Leann Carmickle; three grandchildren, Isabelle Howard, Piper Howard, and Eastlyn Grider; two step-grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew Blessinger.  Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, John Wayne Newkirk and Wilma Brook.

Visitation will be held from 12 – 2 PM Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022 followed by the service at 2:00 PM Saturday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Ryan Wilson and Brian Black officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Black, Aric Black, Brad Carmickle, Jerry Carmickle, Brad Thompson, Ricky Reed, and Buddy Carmickle.  Lena's close friends and family will be honorary bearers.
