Lee Arnold Johnson, 89, of Lawrenceburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at her home. Born May 22, 1927 in Paris, KY, Lee was the daughter of the late Alec and Alice May Reffett Arnold. Lee was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, John Coleman Johnson.
Along with her husband and parents, Lee was also predeceased by a son, Robert Carlisle Spencer, a grandson Stephen Lawson, and siblings, Ruth Biddle, Betty Mann, Ruby Jefferies, Chuck Arnold, Stanley Arnold, and Ray Arnold.
A former marketing coordinator for Parker Seal Company in Lexington, Lee was a member of the Lawrenceburg First Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, gardening and fishing.
Lee is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Lee (Jack) Carpenter of Naples, FL and Betty Catherine Johnson (Billy) Cox of Lake Worth, FL, three grandchildren, Hope (David) Gambrel of Florence, AL, Kaitlyn Cox of Boynton Beach, FL, and Wesley (Charla) Cox of Asheville, NC, six great grandchildren, John Todd, Britton, Kylee, McKinley, Grayson and Caleah, and a sister, Happy Frances (Donald) Lowe of Lexington.
The family would like to acknowledge with deepest gratitude the daily care provided by Lynn Jeffries and Rhonda Fackler who enriched our Mother's last months with sincere love and friendship.
Visitation will be 6 – 8 PM Tuesday, July 26th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 27th at Machpelah Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, KY. Dr. Jeff Eaton will officiate the service.
