Lawrence Perry "Bud" Armstrong, 86, passed away June 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. Lawrence was the son of the late Benton and Nell Armstrong. He was born August 11, 1935 in Wayne County, Kentucky.
Lawrence was a graduate of Anderson High School and attended the University of Kentucky. He worked as a mechanic and was one of the original employees of Sylvania in Versailles. An avid U.K. fan, he loved traveling, hunting, fishing, farming, and spent the winter months in Okeechobee, FL. As a young man, he showed his beagles and bird dogs. He loved his friends, family, and his constant companion Charlie Bear.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Margaret C. Armstrong, his daughters Barbara (Mike) Dickerson, Brenda Scalf, Beth (Tony) Woolums, stepdaughters Julie (Charlie) Scott and Jody James. He is also survived by his grandchildren, David (Lea) Catlett, Doug (Amanda) Catlett, DJ (Jasmin) Catlett, Caitlyn Scalf, Carolyn (Jackie) Dearinger, John Michael and Eli Woolums, great granddaughters, Kaylee Jarrell, Emma, Harper, Averie, Allison and Katie Catlett; and his sister Mary Doris (Carl) Williams.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law Ida and Sherill Hughes, and two stepsons James Allen and Jeffrey Aaron Cook.
Visitation will be 11 am – 1 pm Friday, June 17 th followed by the service beginning at 1:00 PM Friday at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery pavilion. Bro. Noal Cotton, Jr. will officiate the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Catlett, Doug Catlett, DJ Catlett, John Michael Woolums, Eli Woolums, Jackie "Beau" Dearinger, Caitlyn Scalf, Carolyn Dearinger.
Memorials are suggested to the Alton Christian Church, 1686 Old Frankfort Rd., Lawrenceburg, KY 40342 or Bluegrass Hospice Care, 643 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601.
