Larry Akins Funeral Service Broadcast

Larry Wayne Akins, age 76, husband of Clydia Adams Akins, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024 in Frankfort. Born January 23, 1948 in Anderson County, Kentucky, Larry was the son of the late John James Akins and Dorothy Mae Ritchey Akins.

Including his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Akins Sims.

A member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, Larry retired from Osram-Sylvania following over 40 years of employment.  He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Larry enjoyed staying busy working, farming, and hunting.

Including Clydia, his wife 28 years, Larry is survived by his children, Larry Craig Akins (wife Cathy), Kristie Mahl (husband David), both of Lawrenceburg, Anthony Carpenter of Fayette County, Crystal Osborne (husband Dave) of Jessamine County, and Connie Holcomb (husband Johnny) of Lawrenceburg; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; his sisters, Geri Simpson of Lawrenceburg, Kathy Wyatt (Stan) of Lexington and Angela "Angie" Phillips (Ricky) of Lawrenceburg; several nieces and nephews; and several hundred Hammonds Creek Camp kids.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 11, 2024 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Burial with military honors will follow at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be 2 – 5 P.M., Sunday and after 9 A.M. Monday till time of service at 11:00 A.M.

Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Holcomb, Dave Osborne, Anthony Carpenter, Garrett Carpenter, David Mahl, Xander Mahl, Adam Akins, Ethan Akins and Bailey Matiz.
