Kenneth Wayne Carter, 95, husband of 64 years to Ann Perkins Carter, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at his home. Born July 31, 1921 in Anderson County, KY, Kenneth was the son of the late Willis Hereford Carter and Bessie Gibson Carter.

Kenneth served his country as a Corporal with Battery B, 313 ^th Field Artillery 80 ^th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during W. W. II. He worked as a carpenter with Bud Short Contractors and Red Bud Camper Sales in Lawrenceburg. He and his wife Ann were members of Sand Spring Baptist Church and enjoyed camping with their family at Dale Hallow and Green River.

Along with his wife, Kenneth is survived by his son, Danny Keith (wife Debra) Carter of Lawrenceburg; two step-grandchildren, Michele (husband Jeramie) Mattingly of Hodgenville and Jonathan Matthews of Louisville; two step-great grandchildren, Levi and Evan Mattingly; and a sister, Stella Burgin of Frankfort. Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses, Sarah (Kenneth) Cornish, Louis (Bud) Short, Gareld (Terrisa) Carter and James (Shirley) Carter, and a brother-in-law, Ambrose Burgin.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 19 ^th beginning at 11 AM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home led by Dr. Mike Hamrick. Burial with military honors will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 PM Tuesday.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Burgin, David Carter, Kevin Burgin, Larry Shelton, Mike Cook, and Jerry Perkins.
