Funeral Service Broadcast for Karen Caldwell

Karen Ann Waterfill Caldwell, 75, wife of Roger Caldwell of Lawrenceburg, went to join the Lord on January 18, 2026, at her home. She was born August 10, 1950 in Sinai, KY.  She was the daughter of the late Eugene Allen Waterfill and Mary Etta Edmondson.

Karen was a 1968 graduate of Western High School and The College of Cosmetology. She worked for Florida Tile before opening her beauty shop, Mane Attractions.  She later worked for Kentucky State Government and as a hairdresser at Heritage Hall before she was forced to retire due to an illness.

She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. Karen's devotion to the Lord was expressed by her love of gospel music. She performed at many local churches and nursing homes with her husband. She was a co-founder of Penny's Chapel Community Church.

Along with her parents she was predeceased by her sister Mallie Hodson.

Karen is survived by Roger, her husband of 34 years; a daughter Mary Crystal (Russell) Johnston of Lawrenceburg; a son Mark Kitts (DeeDee) of Holly Springs, NC; five grandchildren, Brooke (Kenny) Woody of Adair County, Blake Royalty (Bailey) of Lawrenceburg, Eli, Seth and Chloe Kitts of North Carolina, 9 great grandchildren and a nephew Thomas (Sheila) Stratton.

Funeral services will be11:00 AM Friday, January 23, 2026 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Steve Wells and Mark Kitts officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Anderson County.  Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 PM Thursday and after 9 AM Friday until the time of service at 11 AM.

Serving as pall bearers will be Larry Stevens, Blake Royalty, John Hawkins, Jackie Drury, Brandon Woods and Bill Gregory.
