Obituary

James Pete "J.P." Disponett, 96, husband of the late Della Elouise Sims Disponett, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at the V.A. Medical Center-Cooper Dr., Lexington, KY.  Born August 16, 1923 in Anderson County, J.P. was the son of the late James Tyler "Noon" Disponett and Nora Belle Searcy Disponett.

Along with his wife and parents, J.P. was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Sandy Disponett; and siblings, Bernice Disponett, Edith Hawkins, Carrie Durr, Delcie Morgan, and Susie B. Wiley.

J.P. served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W. II.   He was a farmer, worked for Edward's Sausage and as a bulldozer operator and trim work finisher for his brother Dave Disponett Building Contractor in Lawrenceburg.  At the time of his passing, J.P. was the oldest member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Mercer County where he joined in 1953.  He served as a trustee and a member of the Sunshiners.

J.P. is survived by this three children, Jolene Cliff of Okeechobee, FL, Martina Devine (husband Glenn) of Harrodsburg, and Tony Disponett of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Tammai Hall of Louisville, Jamey (Ashley) Disponett of Frankfort, Jason Devine of Harrodsburg, and Chris (Maeghan) Disponett of Lawrenceburg; 13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; a sister, Mary Lacefield and two brothers, John Henry Disponett (wife Lovena) and Dave Disponett (wife Brenda) all of Lawrenceburg; several nieces and nephews; and his great friends and co-workers, Denny Wainscott, Bronson Proctor, John Kearns, and Scott Stratton.

Private services will be observed.  Bro. John McDaniel and Bro. Stephen Brogli will officiate the service.  Burial with military honors will be at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jamey Disponett, Chris Disponett, Jason Devine, Jared Disponett, Cooper Hall, Caleb Hall, Chase Devine, and Cayden Devine.  His granddaughter and great grandchildren will serve as honorary bearers.

Anyone wishing to honor W.W. II veteran J.P. Disponett are welcome to line the procession route from Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home to the Lawrenceburg Cemetery at approximately 11:45 AM Saturday, May 16, 2020.
