Joyce Royalty Service Broadcast

Joyce Cheak Royalty, 83, wife of the late Bruce Edwin Royalty, passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021 at her home.  She was born March 16, 1938 in Lawrenceburg, daughter to the late James Presley Cheak and Mattie Belle Etherington Cheak.

A 1956 graduate of Anderson High School and Spenserian Business College, Joyce retired as a secretary for the Kentucky Dept. of Transportation.  She also worked at Universal Fasteners and along with her husband Bruce, owned Boone Hardware in Lawrenceburg.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Homemakers Sunday School Class, and was a Kentucky Colonel.  Joyce enjoyed attending the Fit-n-Fun exercise class and traveling with the church and her friend Martha Phillips.

Joyce is survived by her children, Lisa R. (husband Chris) Blandford, Darren Royalty (fiancé Chrystal Boyd), and daughter-in-law Terri Sanford Royalty (wife of Joyce's late son, Edwin Keith Royalty), all of Lawrenceburg; 7 grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Royalty, Nickie (Kenneth) Monroe, Curtis Blandford, Brooke Royalty, Blake Royalty, Stephanie Vincent, and Adam Blandford; 14 great grandchildren; a brother, James Presley "Jim" Cheak, Jr. of Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 29 ^th beginning at 1:00 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Ehr officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Tuesday and after 9 am Wednesday until the time of service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Spencer Cheak, Blake Royalty, Nick Royalty, Brian Royalty, Chris Blandford, and Curtis Blandford.  Members of the Homemakers Sunday School Class will serve as honorary bearers.
