Joseph Anthony "Tony" Howard, 61, of Lawrenceburg, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. He was born Sept. 26, 1952 in Owensboro, KY to the late Joseph Robert and Mary Evelyn Rice Howard.

Tony, known for his friendly smile, was the former owner of Tony's Barn in Lawrenceburg. He worked as a supervisor at Hitachi Automotive in Harrodsburg and was a member of the Thornhill Baptist Church in Frankfort and attended several area churches. He was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and formerly sang in barber shop quartets.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Judy Leathers Howard; five children, Ron (Kristina) Howard of Louisville, Michael Anthony (Zion) Howard of Rahway, NJ, Becci (Brent) Howard-Loy of Upton, Jon (Sara) Howard of Lawrenceburg, and Justin (Jennifer) Howard of Frankfort; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; six siblings, Mike (Sherrie) Howard of Frankfort, Greg (Bonnie) Howard, Debbie (Al) Bickett, Dennis (Lenora) Howard, James Howard, all of Owensboro, and Susie Howard of Hawsville.

A celebration of Tony's life will be held 11 am Friday, August 8th at Ninevah Christian Church, 1195 Ninevah Rd, Lawrenceburg, KY. Bro. Eugene Hoffman, Bro. Tom Baker, Bro. Terry Cooper will officiate. Visitation will be 3 – 8 pm Thursday and after 10 am Friday at Ninevah Christian Church. Cremation will follow services.
