Johnny Keith Franklin, 78, of Lawrenceburg, husband of the late Flora Downey Franklin passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Lawrenceburg. Born May 8, 1936 in Frankfort, KY, he was the son of the late Johnny Floyd and Nannie Ethel Gregory Franklin.

Keith was the former owner/operator of Keith's Parts and Service in Lawrenceburg for 39 years and worked as a tool & die maker for 18 years. He was a lifetime member of the KY Trailblazers Horse Club, a member of the Alton Christian Church, and was a KY Colonel.

He is survived by five children, Sheila Renee (Gayle) Clark of Lawrenceburg, Angela Dawn (J.W., Jr.) Kendall of Frankfort, Johnny Wade (Rhonda) Franklin and Edward Scott (Pam) Franklin, both of Lawrenceburg, and Shannon Lynnette Franklin of Texas; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; five sisters, Anna Belle (Bobby) Glass of Mt. Eden, Vivian (Lisco) Beasley, Thelma (Wendell) Bruce, and Sherry (Jim Brooks) Hahn, all of Lawrenceburg, and Jean (Larry) Gaines of California; two brothers, Don (Francinn) Franklin of Georgetown and Phillip (Donna) Franklin of Lawrenceburg; and a sister-in-law Linda Franklin of Lexington.

Along with his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Lynn Franklin, a sister Joyce Hutcherson, and a brother Hollis Franklin.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, Dec. 22nd at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Garrett Franklin and Rev. Keith McAliley officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Frankfort, KY. Visitation will be 4 – 8 pm Sunday.

Keith's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
