John "Cobb" Wynne Allen, 89, of Lawrenceburg, husband of 59 years to Nancy Bailey Allen, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Born June 4, 1926 in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, John was the son of the late Ernest James and Bessie Champion Allen.

A 1945 graduate of Lawrenceburg City High School, John served in the U.S. Army during WW II and for 40 years was the owner and operator of Allen Motor Clinic in Lawrenceburg. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the American Legion Post #34.

Including his wife Nancy, John is survived by two children, Jana Marie (Keith) Buckles and James Wynne Allen, and a brother, Nathan (Mary Jane) Allen, all of Lawrenceburg. Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by two infant sons, John Thomas Allen and Charles Randolph Allen, and three brothers Keith, Charles, and Robert Allen.

A Celebration of John's Life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 8th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Rev. James Wheeler officiating. Visitation will be 12–2 PM Tuesday.
