John Nathan Sewell, 65, of Frankfort, husband of 40 years to Rosemary Driskell Sewell, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center-ER.

Born October 11, 1951 in Middletown, OH, John was the son of the late Jesse Sewell and Virginia Banks Sewell Darnell. Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Lewis.

A former patrolman with the Frankfort Police Dept. and the Harrodsburg Police Dept., John retired as a chief engineer for the KY State Government Dept. of Corrections. He served in the Army Reserves, was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #12.

Along with his wife, John is survived by his two daughters, Amanda Sewell and Leslie Sewell, both of Frankfort; his two granddaughters, Jenna Dean and Jada Whitlock; his sister, Connie Marks of Louisville; and his brothers, Billy (Valerie) Sewell of Seminole, FL, and Jimmy (Marcie) Sewell of Versailles; his nieces and nephews, Christopher, Anna, Sam, Kinley, Revel "Rusty" (Tina) Lewis, and Jesse (Janeen) Lewis.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, Sept. 28 ^th at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home from 5 – 8 PM.   Cremation was chosen.
