JoAnn Jones Widmer, 76, of Lawrenceburg, wife of 47 years to Bill G. Widmer, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Frankfort Care & Rehab Center in Frankfort. Born January 13, 1941 in Anderson County, KY, JoAnn was the daughter of the late Seth C. "Doc" Jones, Sr. and Hazel Foster Jones.

A homemaker, JoAnn was a wonderful mother to her two daughters and served as a foster mother for 29 years. She opened the first child daycare center in Lawrenceburg and was a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church.

Along with her husband, JoAnn is survived by her two daughters, Sara Widmer of Lawrenceburg and Amy Widmer of Harrodsburg; a sister-in-law Diane Jones; a niece and three nephews.   Including her parents she was also preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Cook and a brother, Seth Conway Jones, Jr.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 19 ^th beginning at 11:30 AM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Bro. Ellery Milburn will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County. Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 PM Monday.
