Jimmy Douglas Walker, 72, husband of 53 years of Freda Kennon Walker, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Born December 12, 1942 in Taylorsville, MS, he was the son of the late Evon Walker and Braddis Irene Rogers Walker.

Jimmy served four years in the U.S. Air Force followed by 29 years of service as a Communications Manager for the 172nd Airlift Wing of the Air National Guard in Jackson, MS retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. Following retirement he worked as the Computer Manager for Birdsong Construction Company in Jackson, MS. Upon moving to Lawrenceburg, Jimmy and his wife joined the First Christian Church where he served in many capacities including Deacon and former Chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee. He was active as Co-President of the Wheel's of Time Car Club and known for mowing his friends and neighbors yards.

Along with his wife, Jimmy is survived by a son Chris Walker and his wife Paula of Nashville, TN; a grandson, Zachery Walker of Nashville; two brothers, Larry Walker and his wife Shirley of Pearl, MS, and Bobby Walker of Jackson, MS; and a niece Jennifer (Jesse) Clement of Cheyenne, WY. Including his parents, he was predeceased by a step sister Joann Walker.

A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held Friday, October 23rd beginning at 2:00 PM at the Lawrenceburg First Christian Church, 300 S. Main St., Lawrenceburg, KY. The Rev. James Wheeler will officiate the service. A time of visitation will be held from 1 – 2 PM Friday, Oct. 23rd at the church.
