James H. "Jimmy" Shelton, 83, husband of 65 years to Minda Gillis Shelton, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born July 4, 1935 in Anderson County, KY, Jimmy was the son of the late Hobert T. Shelton and Ethel Mae Brown Shelton.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Teena Lynn Shelton and two grandsons, David Shelton Cole and Christopher Bruce Cole.

Jimmy worked as a truck driver for almost 60 years and was the owner of Shelton Trucking. He was a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church and a charter member of the Stringtown Ruritan Club.

A devoted and loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Jimmy is also survived by his four children, Marcia Shelton (husband Jim) Butler of Vermont, Carolyn Shelton (Bruce) Cole, Phyllis Shelton (Philip) Ritchey, and Steve (Cheri) Shelton, all of Lawrenceburg; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two brothers, William Rice "Billy" Shelton (wife Bernice) and John Thomas "J.T." Shelton (wife Catherine), of Lawrenceburg.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 11 ^th beginning at 1:00 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Dr. Mike Hamrick and Bro. Troy Shelton will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 – 8 PM and after 10 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Butler, Kevin Ritchey, Sheldon Ritchey, Chris Gaines, Brandon Yocum, and Travis Shelton. Honorary bearers will be Sarah Butler, Tina Cole Gaines, Chasidy Shelton Yocum, Sabrina Shelton, Libby Horn, Becky Butler, Christi Ritchey, and Hope Peach.
