James "Jimmy" William Hooper Sr., age 56, husband of Michelle Diana Harley Hooper, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, in Lexington. Born on November 10, 1968, in Lexington, KY, he was the son of the late Fountain Hooper and Ida Lou Smith Hooper.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James William Hooper Jr.; three brothers, Billy Hooper, Johnny Hooper, and Bobby Hooper; and a sister, Judy Hooper.

Jimmy was known by his family for being a jack of all trades. Jimmy was a self-employed mechanic. He enjoyed working on classic cars, and a wide array of other vehicles and machinery. Jimmy was a family man, when his family needed something, he was there. He was also a great carpenter having helped his family with many projects throughout his life. Jimmy enjoyed spending time outdoors and cracking jokes with his family and friends.

Along with his wife, Jimmy is survived by a daughter, Haley Danielle Edwards (Heath) of Lawrenceburg; five grandchildren, Lea Anne Edwards, Aiden Edwards, Ashton Edwards, Zander Edwards, and Jakob Edwards; two great grandchildren, Everlea Edwards and Karlee Edwards; two sisters, Wanda Hooper and Betty West (Doug); his father and mother-in-law, Jewel and Jennie Harley; two brothers in-law, Travis and Eddie Harley; and two friends, who were like brothers to Jimmy, Calvin Hill and Vernon Drury.

A Celebration of Jimmy's Life will be held on Friday, January 17 from 5 P.M to 7 P.M, at 111 Whitney Ave. Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
