Jimmie Lee Hawkins, 69, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Born on October 2, 1956, in Versailles, Kentucky, he was the son of Betty Lee Rucker Hawkins Brown and the late Jimmie Royce Hawkins.

A 1974 graduate of Anderson County High School, Jimmie dedicated much of his life to public service and law enforcement. He served for many years with the Lawrenceburg Police Department, ultimately earning the position of Chief of Police. He continued his law enforcement career with the Taylorsville Police Department, from which he retired. He also spent time working for the State Road Department.

Outside of his career, Jimmie enjoyed farming, collecting and trading guns, and listening to music, especially hits from the 70s. He was a devoted University of Kentucky fan who often planned his schedule around game days. In recent years, he discovered YouTube and spent countless hours watching all kinds of videos.

In addition to his father, Jimmie, was also preceded in death by his brother, Kalen Todd Hawkins.

Jimmie is survived by his mother, Betty Brown (Forrest); children, Cristi Duvall (Todd), Jeremy Hawkins (Kaylajo), Brandi Hawkins (Corey), and Kerry Hawkins (Lauren); his significant other of twenty-five years, Lee Ann Peach; grandchildren, Kaylee, Brinna, Bradi, Taylor, Ryan, Adam, Korbin, Layla, Austin, Ayden, Camden, Gavin, and Stetson; nephew, Brandon Hawkins; stepsister Susan Adair (Steve), and Lee Ann's children, Kayla Carney and Ryan Peach.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Noal Cotton, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Marc Carter, Lee Moore, Hunter Gaylord, Danny Bowman, Doug Detherage, Roy Ratliff, Lynn Terrell, and Ryan Duvall. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Wooldridge, Bill Cartinour, Adam Duvall, Korbin Hawkins, Randy Back, Carl Peach, and Blake Gaylord.
