Jerry Wayne Sutton, 79, husband of Shirley Milburn Sutton, passed away on August 30, 2025, at Signature Healthcare at Heritage Hall in Lawrenceburg, KY. Born on October 17, 1945, in Franklin County, KY, he was the son of the late George Davis Sutton and Ida Azel Robinson Sutton.

Jerry attended Westside Community Church in Lawrenceburg and proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Vietnam veteran. He previously worked at Purnell Sausage Company and Keller & Russell Farm Equipment. Jerry found great joy in the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or riding his four-wheeler, and he especially enjoyed tending a garden with his neighbors.

In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by his children, Renee Smallwood and Wayne Hawkins; his stepchildren, John Staten, Jeffrey Staten, Imogene Chesser, and Chris Allen Staten; his sisters, Joyce Perry and Ann Hendren; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Sean Lee Sutton; and his brothers, Bobby C. Sutton, Carl D. Sutton, Harvey L. Sutton, and Fred M. Sutton.

A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Corn officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3250 Versailles Road, Frankfort, KY. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
