Obituary

Jerry Estill Rucker, 63, husband of 35 years to Nancy Marie Guffey Rucker, died June 16, 2020 from injuries received in a tractor accident in Anderson County. Born March 6, 1957 in Frankfort, KY, Jerry was the son of the late William Estill "Bill" Rucker and Sarah Lucille Saunders Rucker.

Along with his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by two children, Jeremy Ray Rucker and Jennifer Dawn Butler.

Jerry loved farming and formerly worked in maintenance at American Wire Products in Frankfort. A member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Jerry served as the Mt. Vernon Cemetery caretaker for over 30 years. Along with farming, Jerry enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his grandkids.

Including his wife, Jerry is survived by his children, Jeffrey Dale (Stephanie) Wainscott, Joshua Scott Rucker, both of Lawrenceburg, Tonya Marie Rucker of Versailles, Joseph Daniel (Emily) Rucker of Frankfort, and Jerry Eric (Brooke) Rucker of Lawrenceburg; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and his siblings, Barry (Barbara) Rucker, Sandy (Garry) Gaines, and Tim (Missy) Rucker, all of Lawrenceburg, and Curt (Sonia) Rucker of Waddy, KY.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 from 11 am – 2 pm followed by the service beginning at 2:00 pm Saturday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Jerry's son Bro. Josh Rucker and Bro. Sean Post will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery in Waddy, KY.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Rucker, Eric Rucker, Jeremy Rucker, Jeff Wainscott, Curt Rucker, and Timmy Rucker. Honorary bearers will be Mason Rucker, Carson Rucker, Miranda Shely, Emily Marie Rucker, Colton Rucker, and Michael Shely.

The family suggests memorials to the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery, c/o Mr. Bill Dixon, 313 Plum St., Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.

To abide by the regulations set forth by the State of Kentucky effective June 20, 2020, 50% occupancy of the funeral home will be in practice and everyone is asked to wear face coverings and practice social distancing for all who attend. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
