Jerry Ray Hayes, 71, husband of Mary Adcock Hayes, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at his home. Born May 5, 1946 in Cromona (Letcher Co.), KY, Jerry was the son of the late Charles Hayes and Beulah May Sweeney DiGiovanni.
A retired salesman by trade, Jerry served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He completed two tours of duty and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church, the DAV, VFW, American Legion, and the Marine Corps League. One of his hobbies was researching Family Genealogy.
Along with his wife Mary, Jerry is survived by two children, Heather (James) Renfrow of Munfordville and David (Erica) Hayes of Crestwood; four granddaughters, Ashley, Cailinn, Mikaila and Quinn; a brother, Charles (Janice) Hayes of Redford, MI; two half-sisters, Wilma Gerlisky and Anna Fristick; and a half-brother, James Hayes.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 31

at Freedom Baptist Church, 1010 Powell Taylor Rd., Lawrenceburg, KY. Visitation will precede the service on Wednesday from 11 – 1 at the church. Burial with military honors will follow the services in the Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Proctor, Tyler Hill, Clarence Scott, Randy Crabb, Tim Hammons, and James Renfrow. Memorials in memory of Jerry Hayes are suggested to the Freedom Baptist Church, 1010 Powell Taylor Rd., Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
