Jerry Donald Ellis, Jr., 55, husband of 34 years of Sandy Gibson Ellis, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the U.K. Medical Center. Born October 3, 1960, Jerry is the son of Ellen Durr Ellis of Lawrenceburg and the late Jerry Donald Ellis, Sr.

Jerry currently served as Fleet Manager for the Kentucky State Police where he has worked for 16 years. He formerly served as a volunteer fire fighter with Station #3 for the Anderson County Fire Dept. He loved crappie fishing and was a member of Crappie USA. One of Jerry's greatest enjoyments was Circle Dirt Track Racing in which he has participated for 25 years at area tracks in Junction City, Bardstown, Florence, Burnside, Clay City, Campbellsville, and Glasgow.

Along with his wife Sandy and mother Ellen, he is survived by his son, Neil Hunter Ellis and his girlfriend Taylor Grace Owens of Lawrenceburg, and three brothers, Jamie Ellis, Dwayne Ellis, and Dale (his wife Lynn) Ellis, all of Lawrenceburg.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, August 22, 2016 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Wheeler of First Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 – 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Troopers of the Kentucky State Police.
