Jeanette Champion Cole, 80, passed away at her home in Lawrenceburg on Monday, September 11, 2017.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Rollin Morris Cole; eight children, Bruce (Carolyn) Cole, Marsha Phillips (James "Carky" McCarthy), Bill (Pam) Cole, Gary (Lisa) Cole, Danny (Teresa) Cole, Donald (Rhonda) Cole, Barbara Walker, and Mary (Mike) Fields; 25 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; a sister, Jane Norman; and her special pet cat, Pumpkin.
Born in Harrodsburg, Mrs. Cole is preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Grace James Champion and two grandsons, David and Christopher Cole. She was formerly a member of the Salvisa Baptist Church and Homemakers and served as their chorus accompanist. She also attended the Goshen Baptist Church. She was a wonderful seamstress and spent many hours a day sewing for her daughters and granddaughters. She also enjoyed playing her piano for family and friends and could be heard by neighbors throughout the neighborhood of Ripyville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, Sept. 15

at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Webb and Bro. Fred Knickerbocker officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Thursday.
Mrs. Cole's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
