Funeral Broadcast for Jay Culwell

Jason "Jay" Bryan Culwell, age 27, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023.  Jay was born August 7, 1995 in Huntington, West Virginia to Jason Blevins and Benita Culwell Stephens-Blankenship.

Jay was a Tack Truck Driver for Hinkle Contracting, and a 2013 graduate of Franklin County High School.  He loved being out in nature.  He enjoyed hiking, hunting and anything to do with the outdoors. But more than anything, Jay loved spending time with his little girl, Abbie.

Jay is survived by his mother and step father, Benita and Dale Blankenship of Frankfort;  his birth father, Jason Blevins (Josie) of West Virginia;  his father who raised him Scotty Dwayne Stephens (Christin Johnson Stephens) of Frankfort; father figure Todd Dempsey; his daughter, Abbiegail Neviah Leighanne Culwell;  his siblings, Scotty Ryan Stephens (Lauren), Coco Stephens & Larissa Blevins;  grandparents, Mitch & Sabrina Coldiron;  aunts & uncles, Brandy & Justin Napier, Josie Culwell, Diane Culwell, Norma & David Thompson, Albert  & Chantelle Reed & June Blevins;  nieces & nephew, Athena & Kayden Amos & Paisley Stephens.

Jay was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Kathy & Norman Culwell; paternal grandparents, Hattie & Harrison Blevins.

Funeral service will be 12:30 P.M., Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 10 A.M. till time of service at 12:30. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Frankfort.

Serving as pallbearers will be Scotty R. Stephens, Scotty D. Stephens, Scott Wiley, Mitch Coldiron, and Justin Napier.
