Janet Lowery Funeral Service Recording

Due to the weather, services for Janet Lowery have been rescheduled.  Visitation will be 5-7 pm Wednesday and 10 am until the time of service at 11 am on Thursday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.

Janet Harris Lowery, age 82, wife of James Allen Lowery, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025, at her residence. Born on December 5, 1942, in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Bert Harris and Stella Lanham Harris.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Johnita Jan Lowery, and her brother, Albert Lee Harris.

Janet was a devoted member of the Christian faith and lived a life full of love, kindness, and joy. She retired after many years of dedicated service as a secretary for Ag Credit in Lexington. Outside of work, Janet found great joy in playing bunco and clogging, hobbies that allowed her to connect with friends and enjoy life's simple pleasures. Above all, she cherished her family, with a special affection for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense happiness to her life. Janet's warm spirit and unwavering devotion to her loved ones will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Including James, her husband of 62 years, she is survived by her children, James Allen Lowery, II of Willisburg, Jason Franz Lowery of Lexington, and Junisha Alene Lowery Callis of Lawrenceburg; her siblings, Stella Alene McClain of Georgetown and June Ann Kirkpatrick of Harrodsburg; her grandchildren, James Allen "Jamey" Lowery, III, Collin Dailey Lowery, Colton Prentice Callis, Shelby Annemarie Lowery, and Jan Anniston Lowery; and her great grandchildren, Ember Rose Callis, Gabriel Brian Lowery, Maisie Lynn Lowery, and Elijah Lowery.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Lanhamtown Cemetery, Lanhamtown Cemetery Road, Liberty, KY 42539. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday and after 10:00 AM Thursday until the time of the service at 11 am Thursday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jamey Lowery, Collin Lowery, Colton Callis, Tanner Kirkpatrick, Robert Kirkpatrick, and David Kirkpatrick. Honorary bearers will be Albert Harris, Jr., Eugene McClain, Phillip McClain, Johnny Lowery, Jason Lowery, Eddie Kirkpatrick, and Ricky Kirkpatrick.
