Funeral Service For Janet Cooke

Janet Lee Sykes Cooke, 80, wife of Philip John Cooke, passed away March 2, 2023 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center, Frankfort, KY.  Born in Indianapolis, IN on July 24, 1942, daughter of the late James Lee Sykes and Dorothy Faye Eudaly Sykes.

In 1985, Jan received her Bachelor Degree in Anthropology with a Minor in Archeology from University of California Riverside.  She formerly worked as a Social Services Benefits Coordinator in Indianapolis, IN.  Most recently, she served as CFO at PhilC Designs, LLC.  An active member of First Baptist Church, she enjoyed volunteering in her church and loved her family.  She enjoyed English history, genealogy and research, a voracious reader, and loved asking thought provoking questions on theology.
Including Philip, her husband of 26 years, she is survived by her children, Lisa (husband Ora), Eric (wife Tracy), Beth (husband Kirk), and Amy (husband Steve); step children, Matthew, Daniel, and Stephen; 7 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; two sisters, Joanne and Cynthia; and a brother, John.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 1- 3 PM Sunday, March 12, 2023 followed by a service beginning at 3:00 PM Sunday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Dr. Bob Ehr will officiate the service.   A Committal Service will be 11:00 AM Monday, March 13th at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery pavilion.
Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, American Cancer Society, or a charity of one's choice in memory of Janet Cooke.
