Jane Louise Saunders, 96, of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Youngstown, Ohio, daughter of Neil D. Saunders and Myrtle Waller Saunders, passed away peacefully on Nov. 27, 2017 at her home in Lawrenceburg, KY.

Along with her parents, Jane was also predeceased by her brother, a WW II Veteran, Robert E. Saunders, and a sister, Helen Ruth Richardson.

She is survived by her remaining sibling, Eleanor Mae Saunders Frey of Cleveland, OH, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, including her special niece and caretaker, Lillia (John) Bentley of Lawrenceburg, and great nieces and nephews, including her special great nephew, John Abraham Bentley.

Jane had a lifetime career as an elementary educator and retired in 1986, after teaching for 49 years in the Youngstown Public School System. She was proud to be a member of two sororities, Delta Kappa Gamma and Beta Sigma Phi and served as a past president and treasurer of both sororities. She was a member of the Boardman Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.

She has many treasured lifetime friends and sorority sisters in the Youngstown area.

Local services will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, Dec. 1 ^st at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home led by Bro. Ken Calia and Bro. Paul Richardson. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 6 – 7 PM. Burial will follow at a later date in Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown, Ohio.
