James Allen "Weed" Campbell, Sr., 88, passed away Monday, November 2, 2020 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. James was the husband of the late Mary Evelyn Shouse Campbell, and was born July 8, 1932 in Franklin County, KY to the late William Campbell and Lillian Mauer Campbell.
Including his wife and parents, James was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Campbell Monroe; a grandson, Billy Campbell; and three brothers, William Campbell, Sr., Charles Campbell and Joseph Campbell.
James was a retired tool & die maker with Texas Instruments, and a member of Ninevah Christian Church. James was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving his country during the Korean War, where he proudly served on the USS Robert K Huntington Pacific Fleet, he was also a member of the Lawrenceburg VFW Post 34, and a graduate of Kavanaugh High School. James enjoyed camping and fishing, especially trout fishing.
James is survived by three children, John Campbell & James Campbell, both of Anderson County, and a daughter, Robyn Campbell Fain of Glasgow, KY; five grandchildren, Katy, Angela, Heather, John, and Bobbie; several great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
Services will be 1:00 P.M., Thursday, November 5, 2020 at the Ritchie and Peach Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Cooper officiating. Visitation will be from 11 A.M., till time of service at 1P.M on Thursday. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery with military honors.
Casket bearers will be John Campbell II, Jonathan Campbell, Lee Wilson, Katy Wilson, Robyn Fain, Kline Perry & Ricky Doss.
To abide by the regulations set forth by the State of Kentucky all persons attending a visitation or funeral (public or private) will be required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing. Fifty (50%) occupancy of the funeral home/church will be in practice. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
