James "Oscar" Allen Campbell, Jr., 66, passed away on September 7, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital in Danville, Kentucky. Born on April 27, 1960, in Frankfort, Kentucky, he was the son of the late James Allen Campbell, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Shouse Campbell.

James was a self-employed plumber and had previously worked for Bobby Hyatt Plumbing. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed staying busy. In his free time, James enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved cooking for those he cared about and looked forward to gathering with others. James had a special love for celebrating the Fourth of July and enjoyed attending regattas and boat races.

Along with his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, John Campbell; his sister, Kim Elizabeth Campbell; and his nephew, Billy Joe Campbell.

James is survived by his sister, Robyn Fain; nieces, Katy Wilson (Lee) and Bobbie Carriss; nephew, John Campbell, II; special cousins, Jane Hawkins (Dwayne), Ann Case (Shaun), and Glenda Gay; along with several other special cousins, nieces, and nephews who will cherish his memory.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, with Bro. Randy Peyton officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday. A private burial of his cremated remains will take place at a later date.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dwayne Hawkins, Keith Hawkins, Ricky Doss, Jeff Shouse, Brent Wayne Campbell, Steve Gaines, and Oscar Shingleton.
