James Hayes Harley, Jr., 82, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014 at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. He was the husband of the late Alta Katherine "Kate" Hardin Harley and son of the late James Hayes and Goldie Searcy Harley.

Mr. Harley was born July 19, 1932 in Anderson County and attended the University of Kentucky. He was a retired general manager of O.K. Trucking in Lexington and served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Glensboro Baptist Church.

He is survived by two children, Martin D. (Carolyn) Harley of Lawrenceburg, and Dana Harley Abbott and her fiancée Joe Fisher of Frankfort; a grandson, Casen Wesley Abbott of Frankfort; two sisters, Emogene Stucker and Earline (Marion) Stucker, both of Lawrenceburg; a brother, Charles Harley of Frankfort.

Along with his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Flanagan and Lillian Overstreet.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, Sept. 9th at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Corn officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be 5 – 8 pm Monday.
