James Ellis Ferguson, 77, husband of Cordelia Hawkins Ferguson, passed away, Saturday, July 11, 2020 in Lexington.  James was born February 12, 1943 in Portsmouth, VA to the late James Edward Ferguson, Jr. and Mary Ella Haskins Weiderman.

James was a veteran in the U.S. Army, and a retired private consultant in the health care management service. He received his Masters Degree in Nursing & Psychology from the University of Louisville and Spaulding University.  James was also a member of the Ninevah Christian Church in Lawrenceburg.

Including his wife, James is survived by his children, Robb Ellis Ferguson of Louisville, KY, Jesse Patrick Ferguson of New Albany, IN and Kathryn Claire Ferguson of Elizabethtown, KY, Kevin Nelson Watts of Eddyville, KY, Julie Kay Southworth and husband John of Versailles, Mark Alan Watts and wife Rebekah of Lawrenceburg; and fourteen grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 P.M., Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Will Cooper officiating.  Visitation will be from 12 noon till time of service on Tuesday.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Mike Hawkins, Tommy Hawkins, John Southworth, Jalen Watts, Tayedan Watts and Zack Phillips.
