James Carlisle "Jim" Chilton, 87, husband of 52 years to Jane Hatchett Chilton, passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020. Born August 14, 1933 in Henry County, KY, Jim was the son of the late Carl and Margaret Jackson Chilton.
Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a son, William Preston Chilton; two sisters, Dorothy Beverley and Mabel Frances Griffith; and three brothers, Paul Randolph Chilton, Billy Chilton, and Owen Dalton Chilton.
Jim served his country as a HM3 in the U.S. Navy and retired as a trooper with the Kentucky State Police. Following retirement, Jim worked as a facility security officer for the KY State Police and as a Special Needs Bus Driver for the Anderson County Board of Education. He was a member of the Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church and a member of the Anderson Masonic Lodge #90. Jim enjoyed watching U.K. basketball and football, the Cincinnati Reds, and most of all watching his grandchildren in their sports and activities.
Including his wife, Jim is survived by his children, Douglas C. (wife Christy) Chilton, Troy S. (wife Heather) Chilton, and Jamie C. Chilton, all of Lawrenceburg, Cindy (husband George) Longhorn of VA, James Chilton of Mt. Washington, Laurie Ann (husband Robert) Clark of Shelbyville, and Angela Chilton Watkins of Bloomfield; his grandchildren, Alex Chilton, Elisabeth Chilton and Jackson Riley Chilton, great grandchild Evie Tate Wyatt, and several other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, Nov. 10 th at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Pastor Todd Lester will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery with honors provided by the Kentucky State Police Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 3 – 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church Building Fund, 495 Duckers Rd., Midway, KY 40347 or to one's favorite charity.

To abide by the regulations set forth by the State of Kentucky all persons attending a visitation or funeral (public or private) will be required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
