Isabelle Hurst Royalty, 99, widow of Edward Samuel Royalty, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Bradford Square in Frankfort, KY. Born September 8, 1918 in Mercer County, KY, Isabelle was the daughter of the late Ben and Augusta Wiley Hurst.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Royalty Stewart; a great granddaughter, Paige Whitaker; and her three sisters, Alma Merriman, Dora Lee Rhinehart Quarna, and Ruby Cook.

Mrs. Royalty was a retired accountant with the Kentucky Teachers Retirement System. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, a member of the choir, and served on the welcoming committee hosting many pastors and visitors for lunch and dinner through the years. She and her husband formerly owned the Alton Country Grocery.

Mrs. Royalty is survived by her children, Barbara Royalty Stratton (Bob) Pennington of Frankfort and Dale Edward (Cindy) Royalty of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Chelan Stratton Johnson, Tashia Stratton (Dennis) Cyporyn, Lorri Stratton Peterman, Dionna Crask (Keenan) Akemon, Nicole Stewart Lowery, Samuel Dale Royalty, and Thomas Layton Royalty; 12 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Willie Mae Hinson of Irmo, SC.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 24 ^th beginning at 1:00 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Dr. Robert Ehr will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 PM Friday.
