Ira Blakeman Service Broadcast

Ira Lee "Pete" Blakeman, 74, passed away June 5, 2023 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.  He was born in Versailles, KY on April 24, 1949, son to the late Eugene Blakeman and Bonnie Hahn Blakeman.

A 1967 graduate of Western High School, Ira received his BA in Sociology from Eastern Kentucky University in 1971.  He formerly worked at Commonwealth Credit Union and most recently as a Disability Hearing Office and Disability Determiner for the State of Kentucky.  He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, yardwork, tinkering, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by three sisters, Jeanne (Paul) Coke of Taylorsville, Anne Freeman and Beth Barker, both of Lawrenceburg; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death a brother, Charles "Charlie" Blakeman, and two brothers-in-law, Ronnie Freeman and Bill Barker.

Visitation will be held from 12 noon – 1 PM Monday, June 12, 2023 followed by the service beginning at 1:00 PM Monday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Bro. Al Peach will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Anderson County, KY.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Coke, Robert Coke, Chris Coke, Jackson Blakeman, Blake Drury and Brett Drury.  Honorary bearers will be Amanda Blakeman, Adam Dye, and Terri Jacobs.
