Hugh Allen Rucker, 80, passed away peacefully at his home in Nicholasville on January 1, 2023.  A native of Anderson County, Hugh Allen was born May 7, 1942 to the late Marion Rucker and Shelia Carlton Rucker.

Hugh Allen was known for his humor always telling jokes to keep others happy and making them laugh.  He worked as a car salesman for the former Hanks Motors in Lawrenceburg and enjoyed fishing, hunting, U.K. Basketball, but most importantly loved his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.  He was a kindhearted and unselfish person who loved taking care of his family members.  He was baptized at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and attended Lawrenceburg First Baptist Church.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Gary Rucker of Lawrenceburg, Susan Rucker Oakley (special son-in-law Andy) of Nicholasville, and Katie Rose of Louisville; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Pittman of Lawrenceburg; and a brother, David (Marcy) Rucker of Lawrenceburg.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Allen Rucker; three brothers, Eldon Rucker, Beryl Rucker, and Gayle Rucker; and a very special aunt who raised him and later he became her caretaker, Marjorie Carlton.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be 3 – 6 PM Wednesday, January 4, 2023 followed by a service at 6:00 PM Wednesday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Bro. Roy Temple, Jr. will officiate the service.  Cremation will follow the services.
